Why We Exist
Our Realization
As followers of Jesus and in examining His life in the Bible, we realized our daily lives lacked the depth and fulfillment that He promised. We simply knew there was more.
The Shift
As we began to actively live out what we saw in the Word, things shifted and we saw God transform lives; not just ours, but those we connected with.
Our Response
God moved us to create a space to bridge the gap between acquiring knowledge and understanding and living out what we see in the Word – so that Tuesday morning reflects what we see in the Bible.
The Result
That is what Advancing Believers is: A space and community exploring each facet of our identity in Christ shown in the Word of God and actively loving our communities every day: as Jesus demonstrated, and as we were created to live.
Belief
God
We believe there is only one God who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit who are one in unity and purpose. Each of these are individual, but each equally Divine and equally deity.
Belief
Jesus Christ
While we were sinners, the Word (expression) of God took on the form of human flesh and was born of a virgin laying down all benefits of deity without violating or detracting from His divine essence. He (Jesus Christ) walked as a sinless man, submitting His will to the Father; laid down His life, allowing God to place all of mankind’s sins on Himself on the cross; out of love, paying the ultimate sacrifice with His pure blood upon the cross.
Jesus physically rose from the dead on the third day, destroying the works of the devil, ascended into heaven, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us. He will return to earth for His church, and after a time complete the plan of God with judgment, rewards and a new heaven and earth
About the Bible
The Bible
We believe the original 66 books of the Bible is the complete, inspired and infallible Word of God. The Bible is “God-breathed” and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness so that the Man of God may be complete and thoroughly equipped for every good work
About People
Man & the Original Plan
The Bible states that God created male and female in His image, they were given dominion over all the works of His hands, and given free will. It is God’s desire to have fellowship with man and partner with him to establish His Kingdom on the earth
About People
Fall of Man and the Consequences
Because of the voluntary choice of Adam (the 1st man) to disobey God, all mankind thereafter is born with the sinful nature and therefore is an enmity against God.

Salvation
Salvation is a gift from God, available to all humans who repent, turn from their sins, and believe in Jesus’ sacrifice on behalf of their sins, by making Jesus Lord. It is only by grace, through faith, that we can access this gift from God. There are no works that mankind can ever do to earn salvation, but every person must choose for themselves.
Because Adam’s choice in the garden did not surprise God, or change His desire or plan for man, upon receiving God’s gift of salvation, His Spirit indwells and recreates us, making all things in us, new. We become ambassadors for God and are given the ministry of reconciliation.
About People
Spirit Beings
The Bible states that God’s creation includes spiritual beings as well as earthly beings. It also says that there is a literal devil, (satan) and that he is the enemy of God. Many angels followed satan in his rebellion against God and actively work with him against God’s Kingdom and man.
What is the Church
The Church is not a building, but rather, the world-wide community of those who have repented and made Jesus Christ Lord of their lives and follow His teachings. What are His teachings? Jesus said very simply: “Love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength and love your neighbor as yourself.”
- John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
- Matthew 22:37-40 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
- Acts 8:3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison. , 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
- Ephesians 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, , 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; , 5:29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
- Colossians 4:15 Salute the brethren which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church which is in his house.
- Philemon 1:2 And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house:
- 1 Corinthians 10:32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:

Over the last 40 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving in ministry-from children’s and youth ministry to training pastors and leaders. One thing I consistently see is that many Christians genuinely want to please God; they simply aren’t sure how to live out what the Bible says in everyday life
The Christian life isn’t just about gaining knowledge. It’s about who we’re becoming
That’s why I believe mentorship and training go hand in hand as we learn the Word and walk the Way – working out our faith in the real, sometimes messy reality of life. Thankfully, God has given us Holy Spirit to guide us as we grow. My goal is to live out 2 Corinthians 5:15 – to live for the One who died for me and helping others do the same. Life can be hard, and faith can sometimes feel complicated. But relationship with God is simple:
- Know Him.
- Love Him.
- Follow Him.
- Let Him live through you.
When we do, the pressure is off, and He can love people well through us. For me, there’s nothing more fulfilling than investing in people as they discover who God has created them to be and learn to walk in what He has given them.

For decades, my focus was on aviation and the building trades, where I trained others to master complex skills. I quickly learned that the best way to help someone succeed isn't by overwhelming them—it’s by making things simple, practical, and concise. In recent years, I’ve brought that same heart to mentoring individuals, leading small groups, and supporting pastors.
What I’ve discovered is that in Christianity, it’s not about keeping rules or learning information. Genuine growth happens when we cut through the noise and focus on the simplicity of our faith. My passion is helping believers discover and develop a deep, authentic relationship with God and share His love with the world as they walk out everyday life.
